I saw this on Sportsnation tonight, and needless to say, my first reaction was “I’m gonna blog about this tonight”. Not really… kind of. Anyway, here’s how Slackline.com, the official website of Slacklining (duh?!) describes this sport-type-thing:

“Slacklining is the sport of walking a small, flat nylon rope between two points. It is practiced in the backyard, on college campuses and city parks, and even 3000 feet above the ground. Some people do it for fun, others for the obvious athletic benefits, and others still for a meditative purpose, in seeking a higher state of mind. Since slacklining’s development in the late 1970s, slacklining has grown into an international craze, and is a common and popular pastime within the outdoor community.”

Personally, I am both amazed by the athletic ability and dumbfounded at the concept of this. I’ve never wanted to do something and conversely not do something so much at the same time. I would imagine that crotch injuries are numerous with Slacklining. Just watch this. You’ll be kind of glad you did:
