This is kind of interesting. Try to guess what genre of music each New Yorker is listening to. You’ll be amazed at some of the actual answers. Some are kind of predictable though.

The Cool Kids should just be named The Unconventional Kids. They’ve already signed to Mountain Dew for the release of “When Fish Ride Bicycles” which seemed to be when the actual moment in time when the album was actually going to come out. Now, they’ve got this video / behind the scenes look / mockumentary video for their song latest single, “Bundle Up”. And, like always, they make it look cooler than everything out. Check this out:
This was created in 2003, but I’m just learning about it now. It is the Audiopad, made by Patten Studio, a company that works with surface technology. I’m sure they’re expensive, but if someone wants to buy me one, that would be cool.
How Patten describes the Audiopad:
“Audiopad is a composition and performance instrument for electronic music which tracks the positions of objects on a tabletop surface and converts their motion into music. One can pull sounds from a giant set of samples, juxtapose archived recordings against warm synthetic melodies, cut between drum loops to create new beats, and apply digital processing all at the same time on the same table. Audiopad not only allows for spontaneous reinterpretation of musical compositions, but also creates a visual and tactile dialogue between itself, the performer, and the audience. “
Take a look for yourself:
Audiopad. Because learning how to play instruments is so 2002.
I will gladly be one of the first people to break this song. Check out “That Bounce” by C-Money of Chicago’s Super Fresh Bros. (Hint hint – there may be some tracks in the works with them) Download the song by clicking here.
Here’s our Mash-Up of the Week for this week (Soundcloud let us upload this one!). Here’s Tupac’s “California Love” vs. Sublime’s “Santeria”. Check it out. You can hear our show on Marquette Radio every Thursday from Noon-1 P.M. Also, please follow @BreakinNEnterin and use the hashtag #dodoblood after every tweet from now on, in honor of Charlie Sheen’s weird #tigerblood deal. And, you can find us on Facebook by clicking here.
And as always, vote for our Hero of the Week Poll by clicking here. It takes like, two seconds.
Congratulations, fellow Packer fans! WHOOOOOOO!!!!! Okay, that was slightly unnecessary. Anyway. During the game, SAFS Crew members Klassik, Seismic, and Rtystic dropped a new EP for free download entitled “The Halftime Show”. It’s a free download, so you have no reason not to get it. Oh, and Klassik is a better producer than you.
Breaking And Entering, AKA Mine and Steve Frymark’s radio show, have some a new feature that we began this week, called the Mash-Up of the Week. We’re taking two songs that don’t belong together and well… creating a mash-up. Check out this week’s edition: indie group Sleigh Bells’ “Kids” vs. Ludacris’ “How Low”:
We also need help deciding Breaking And Entering’s Hero of the Week . Vote for either a group of Mexican drug smugglers who tried to use catapults to launch marijuana over the border, or a 14 year old boy from the 19th century who was recently discovered to be Queen Victoria’s stalker, who stole her panties.
If you didn’t catch Breaking And Entering this week on Marquette Radio, you missed out on a great show. We’ll be back every Thursday from Noon – 1 P.M. at Marquetteradio.mu.edu.
This doesn’t completely fall under the “I Made That” heading, but here’s The Cranberry Show’s official video for “Time Of Day”, a track that I produced. Keep an eye out for a quick shot of Johnston Hall, home of Cat Daddy… err… Marquette Radio (Also where Steve Frymark and myself host Breaking And Entering).
… TRICK!
Everyone’s favorite show is back to our roots as Steve and I returned to the basement for our first podcast since our show moved to Marquette Radio. Check it out and listen to us weekly on Marquetteradio.mu.edu. Also, check out our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter (@BreakinNEnterin) to stay up to date with our shenanigans. Or email us at BreakinNEntering@gmail.com
This is Empires. They’re from Chicago, and they are awesome. I saw these guys in May, opening for Margot & The Nuclear So And So’s at Marquette’s Annex while there was a thunderstorm / tornado warning outside. In June, I saw them at the Verge Music Festival where it had just rained / continued to rain throughout the night. Here’s there new video, “Bang”, free from any serious weather on your computer. Side note: No condom, no way.
